#2 Set up your motherboard

Make sure not to tamper with the CPU fan.

Place the motherboard onto the rig frame and secure it into place using screws.

How much power do I need for my rig? That solely depends on the hardware used.

Since your graphics card will draw the most power, please refer to its manual to see the max power consumption.

This is done from the SATA cables. Just take the SATA power cables and line them next to each GPU position along the rig.

#4 Adding GPU risers

It is much easier to just have the USB and Molex cables installed into the RISER socket before attaching the GPU.

Secure your GPU to the rig frame before you proceed to connect the USB into the motherboard slot. Do this one riser at a time till all are done.

After you are done with the risers, connect all your PCIe cables to the GPUs.
Every Molex cable comes with at least 3 connecting cables, so you should be able to use 2 of the 3 connectors on 2 different GPU cards.

For instance, I am imagining you have chosen to go with 5 cards.

    Build an Ethereum Mining Rig Step by Step

    The Basics: First, attach CPU to motherboard, place the cooling fan and RAM.

    Connect SSD drive via SATA cable. Power it all with one PSU – it will be the primary unit. For now, mount just one GPU.

    BIOS: Launch your rig, go to BIOS and update it to the latest version, which is F4A at the moment. You can download it on the Gigabyte website.     Hard Drive:$20. We strongly recommend SSD. Faster boot time, higher operation speed – it’s excellent, so don’t skimp on it! We’d recommend 80GB SSD, just to make sure, but even with 60GB SSD, you are good to go.

    If you run some Linux mining distro like RaveOS any sized of SSD would meet your requirements.

    RAM:$17. DDR4 only. We usually use Kingston and hope for the best – has never let us down yet.

    One 4GB RAM-card would be enough – it’s not essential for mining. However, MTP algorithm usually requires more RAM. Please consider buying some more if you plan to mine Zcoin.

    Power supply units:$360.

    However, Windows or Mac OS are still great alternatives.

  • Accessories – monitor, keyboard, mouse and USB cables. They will be needed to set up a mining farm.
  • Frame to assemble all components, it will help to hold all the components of the rig.
  • Where should I buy the components

    In specialized stores, everything is simple: you can pick up the goods on the day of treatment, you do not need to wait for delivery. But the difference in price compared to Amazon can reach 100%. So, the GeForce 1050 Ti card in stores sells for $ 220-230, and on the Internet it can be purchased for $ 130.
